Nature Festival – 2023

Meiporul Foundation is coordinating nature festival with tribal people on Sunday 01st October 2023. The program will feature various cultural events and tribal traditional art related to nature conservation. 

The nature festival is celebrated as a cultural festival of the indigenous people who have protected the lush forests and forest-based resources of the Western Ghats for thousands of years and have lived as human beings in harmony with nature. We have to act very quickly to control the ecological disturbances and the consequences that we are facing in recent times. We must protect ourselves and our future generations from the side effects of climate change and other related disasters.

Today we have lost precious lives due to floods in Libya and Hong Kong. Marginalized people living there are stuck in a huge economic crisis that cannot be recovered. We see a situation where the very rich have lost their homes, lost their possessions and lost their relationships. We certainly should not leave this world to our children in such an environment. So the nature festival will make us see ecology in the tribal way among us. All of us, governments, individuals, movements, have a big vision of the environment and join together to save ourselves.
